Laptop Finder Quiz
Laptop spec sheets are confusing. Tell the quiz what you will mostly do, your budget and how often you carry it around. It shows the kind of processor, memory, storage, screen and battery life to look for, plus what you can safely skip. It does not pick a brand or model, so you can compare any shop's listings.
How it works
- Each use has a minimum and a comfortable spec; a higher budget moves you toward comfortable
- Carry every day adds a weight and battery target
- Processor names are given as families (for example Core Ultra 5 / Ryzen 5 / Apple M-series), not exact models
- Gaming and serious video add a separate graphics card target
Memory (RAM) and storage are often impossible to upgrade later on thin laptops, so it is worth paying for enough at the start.
Three things this quiz can't see
- Build quality. Keyboard, screen brightness and speakers vary a lot. Read a few reviews from real buyers.
- Software you need. Check that your school, job or games run on the system you pick, especially Chromebooks and Macs.
- Deals. Last year's model with the same specs is often much cheaper.
